After many years of having dogs, mostly Dobermans and then later Bouviers, and a few bad experiences with so called breeders; I was on the search for something different. I wanted a healthy breed that was unusual, medium size, elegant and intelligent. My passion was being in the show ring so I had to find a dog worthy of being shown. So I set out to find the breed that met all of my criteria’s.

 While researching breeds, I realized that every time I was at a show, I found myself standing ringside of the Terrier group rings and couldn’t keep my eyes off of the Kerry Blue Terrier. That was it! The light bulb went on and my search for the perfect breed ended. 

  In 1990 I purchased my first Kerry Blue from a wonderful couple in Austin Texas. She was the love of my life and constant companion officially named “Ch. Kastle’s Unforgotten Promise, CD, B.A.D., TDI, CGC” Promise was the ultimate dog in my eyes and proving to me that Kerry Blues were far more intelligent and eager to please than the other breeds that I had competed with in years past. 

 Currently we have 3 generations of Kerrie’s that occupy our home, where the entire family is involved with their daily love, care, grooming, dog shows, raising litters and training. All of our dogs are housedogs and even our intact males run together!  Our Kennel name “Jorkaite” derived from our 2 children’s names Jordan and Kaitlyn, who have been incredibly instrumental in socializing our puppies!

  My experiences have included many different aspects of the dog world, but too many to list all of them, they include such things as: Being actively involved with our local all breed kennel club since 1992, including holding positions on the board and Show Chairman. A professional Groomer since 1982 (& a Certified Master Groomer) , Holding grooming presentations & workshops, Owner-handling (our own and for others) and titling numerous dogs in conformation, agility & obedience and placing 2 Kerrie’s in the top 10 rankings.

  We take all precautions to insure the health of our dogs including a natural, high quality feeding routine, filtered water, pesticide and chemical free yards, natural cleaning products for the household and natural shampoos for our Kerrie’s. We believe that so many chemicals are in our everyday lives that have unknown effects on our health, that we choose to go as natural as possible.
